Happiness is what being Content is all about.

Contentment makes poor men Rich; Discontent makes even Rich men Poor.”-Benjamin .J. Franklin

Happiness is what being Content is all about. You see your friends going exotic holidays, they buy new mobile phones more frequently than your buy your clothes. You feel you deserve much more from life than it has to offer and except you, everyone else has things going their way. The grass is always greener on the other side of hill, or at least it seems that way. But there is always someone out there, who wishes they had what you do.

Having a 6 figure salary, owning your house, buying that car you’ve always wanted may seem the definition of contentment. But the truth is, if you can’t be happy with what you have today, you won’t be satisfied with what you have tomorrow either.

The unquenchable thirst for having more and more has led many great people to ruin. Though the feeling of discontent is natural, you can overcome with a little positivity in life.

  • Compare yourself both ways: – It may depress you when you see that some people have it better than you do. Compare yourself to those who are leaps and bounds behind where you are. Walk a mile in their shoes and you’ll be happy being where you are today.
  • Appreciate the little things: – Every single laugh, every single thing moment where you feel joy, count it as a blessing. Be grateful for every meal and a roof to sleep under; you’ll be satisfied with the big things only if you’re content in the little ones.
  • Follow your heart: – Living the dreams others have dreamt for you will never make you truly happy. Making minimum wage would still be satisfying if you were doing something you truly loved.
  • Stop Procrastinating: – Whatever important thing you’re thinking of doing tomorrow, do it right now! You can’t write the next chapter of your life if you keep reading the previous one.

Some may believe that being content means being satisfied with having little. But the truth is that contentment is to know that demanding more without working for it would bring nothing.
